Hairstylist
High school graduates can start performing professional hair skills on clients. Gambia doesn’t have rules for licensing hairstylists, so skilled practitioners are free to earn in the beauty industry.
Barber
Barbers can complete higher education or not in the country. They are unregulated and allowed to become professionals without any certifications.
Facialist / Waxing Technician / Spray Tanning Technician / Lash Technician
Estheticians or beauty specialists are equipped with facial, waxing, spray tanning and lash skills. They typically have one license, but since Gambia has no regulations for them, anyone skilled in these services can practice.
Massage Therapist
Massage therapists are not required to follow any formal requirements. Gambia is free of regulations for massage, so practitioners can offer services without a license.
