Non-Regulated Beauty Services in Sri Lanka

Nail Technician

Nail technicians are not regulated in Sri Lanka. They must gain professional skills, however, to start their careers in nails.

Massage Therapist

Massage therapists don’t necessarily need any proof of professional qualification. The country has no rules for them to become workers in the industry.

Makeup Artist

High school and college graduates are both welcome to begin their makeup careers in Sri Lanka. They are not required a license or any qualification to enter the industry.

Spray Tanning Technician / Facialist / Lash Technician / Waxing Technician

Providing multiple services is what a beauty therapist is capable of. They are typically licensed in many regions but not in Sri Lanka. Skilled aspirants can become professionals.

Barber

Whether an aspirant in barbering has a training certificate or not, they are all welcome to explore various opportunities in the industry. Licensing requirements are not set in the country for barbers.

Hairstylist

Hairstylists are also free of requirements for becoming professional practitioners. There are no regulations for licenses in the hair industry, so anyone with professional skills can work.
