Hairstylists are only expected to finish high school to become hair professionals. They can pursue further education, but it’s unnecessary as the country is unregulated in hair.

Nail Technician

Nail technicians are not required to get licensed or certified. Iraq has no specific laws for nail tech licensing, so those with skills can work in beauty.

Barbers can have training certificates to practise or be high school graduates. The country has not set any regulations for licensing barbers, allowing skills as the primary requirement for success.

Waxing Technician / Facialist / Lash Technician / Spray Tanning Technician

With beauty therapy, waxing, facials, lashes and spray tanning can be offered. Iraq, however, doesn’t regulate professionals in beauty, so skilled individuals without formal certificates are able to practise.

Makeup Artist

Makeup artists are also not regulated in Iraq. Skills are usually what the industry needs to become a successful artist.

Massage Therapist

Massage aspirants are only required at least high school education to begin their professional careers. They can train professionally but not mandatory.
