Massage Therapist / Hairstylist

Massage therapists and hairstylists are some of the industries in Costa Rica that have no regulations for practitioners. Having a license is not required, which gives professionals without qualifications more opportunities.

Spray Tanning Technician / Waxing Technician / Facialist / Lash Technician / Nail Technician

Beauticians provide multiple services in hair, skincare and nails. Many places require beauty professionals to be licensed but not in Costa Rica. Skilled practitioners without certifications are welcome to earn.

Makeup Artist

Like other beauty professionals in the country, makeup artists are also free of licensing requirements. High school graduates can already provide various makeup services to the public.

Barber

Barbers are also not required to have any qualifications. They are only expected to master the skills and at least complete high school to start working as barbers in the country.
