Massage Therapist

Massage therapy is one of the complementary and alternative medicine or CAM practices in Cuba. Practitioners in CAM practices are required to undergo formal training by a recognised school and get a license to work. Education required for massage therapy is usually over 200 training hours to complete.

Non-Regulated Beauty Services in Cuba

Hairstylist

Hairstylists can already work as professionals in the country when they finish high school. They only need to get skilled to provide the most satisfactory services.

Makeup Artist / Waxing Technician / Facialist / Lash Technician / Spray Tanning Technician

These beauty experts are usually recognised as cosmetologists or estheticians in many places. But Cuba has no licensing laws for them, which means anyone skilled in these areas can provide services. Further education is also not required to practice these services.

Nail Technician

Like many beauticians in the country, nail technicians are unregulated as well. They only need high school education to become professionals and practice nails.

Barber

Barbers are free of regulations for licenses in Cuba. Practitioners can become professionals if they have college education and are skilled in barbering. Further education is optional for barbers.
