El Salvador is another country in South America without licensing laws for hair, nail and skincare specialists. The beauty industry in the country doesn’t require a license or any form of certification from practitioners.
Waxing Technician / Lash Technician / Facialist / Spray Tanning Technician / Nail Technician / Makeup Artist
These professionals are considered beauty therapists or cosmetologists who are equipped to provide multiple services. Cosmetologists in the country are not regulated, allowing those without certifications or high school graduates to practise as beauty professionals.
Like cosmetologists, barbers are also free of any license in the country. As soon as an aspirant finishes high school, they can already begin earning as a barber.
Massage therapists can own a diploma in massage or not. Having a license is not mandatory, and professionals can be practitioners after graduating from high school.
Trained practitioners or individuals whose skills are gained from experience can practise as hairstylists. El Salvador doesn’t have formal requirements for professionals in this industry.
