Regulated Beauty Services in Puerto Rico

Barber

Barbers are required to finish 1,500 training hours or complete 24 months of apprenticeship hours.

Hairstylist / Makeup Artist / Facialist / Spray Tanning Technician / Waxing Technician / Lash Technician

These professionals can get a cosmetology or esthetics license in Puerto Rico. Cosmetologists are expected to finish 1,500 training hours or 24 months of apprenticeship hours. Estheticians should complete 600 training hours or 12 months of apprenticeship hours.

Nail Technician

Nail techs must graduate from a 400-hour training program or complete 8 months of apprenticeship hours.

Massage Therapist
