Facialist / Makeup Artist / Waxing Technician / Lash Technician (Lash Extensions, Lash Tint, Brow Tint)
Estheticians cover a broad scope of beauty services, and this includes facials, makeup, waxing and lash enhancements. They are expected to finish an esthetician program of 1,000 hours at an approved school. They are also required to complete 250 theory hours before they can perform clinical services.
Hairstylist
Hairstylists or hair designers must complete 1,350 training hours at any accredited institution. They must have 250 theory hours before offering clinical services to clients.
Barber
Master barbers in Georgia should complete training of 1,500 hours at an approved college or school. They must obtain 280 hours of theory before providing clinical services. Barber II applicants are expected to complete 1,140 training hours, with 190 hours of theory that must be obtained prior to offering clinical services.
Nail Technician
Nail technicians or nail care technicians should complete 525 training hours and must obtain 140 theory hours before providing clinical services.
Massage Therapist
Massage therapists in the state are required to complete 500 training hours at a recognised program. They must also provide official verification from the FSMTB or NCBTMB that they passed the MBLEx, NCETMB, NCETM or any equivalent examination.
