Regulated Beauty Services in Massachusett, USA

Hairstylist

Hairstylists should take a cosmetologist license to work in the state. They are required to complete 1,000 training hours to take the exam and become licensed.

Nail Technician

Nail technicians should meet the 1,000-hour training requirement to take the exam. They can work in salons or barbershops once licensed in the state.

Makeup Artist / Facialist / Waxing Technician

These beauty services or professionals are under the aesthetician license. They must finish 600 training hours to take and pass the licensure exam.

Barber

Like hairstylists, barbers must finish 1,000 training hours as well to qualify for the licensure examination.

Massage Therapist

Aspirants for massage therapy should finish 650 training hours of classroom and clinical learning. They are also expected to pass the MBLEx. Aside from that, massage therapists must have liability insurance.
